Motta Tamper 8100 53mm

The Motta 8100 is a flat base tamper with a 53 mm base in polished stainless steel and a wooden handle, made in Italy by Metallurgica Motta, the Omegna workshop producing stainless steel barista tools since 1967.

The flat base compresses the coffee bed evenly across the whole basket, and the wooden handle sits naturally in the palm, so the tamp stays level and repeatable. At 53 mm it is sized for machines with smaller filter baskets: worth checking your basket diameter before ordering, since the classic commercial standard is 58 mm.
