Motta Tamper 8100 58mm

The Motta 8100 is the classic espresso tamper from Metallurgica Motta: a precision machined 58mm flat stainless steel base with an ergonomic wooden handle, shaped so you can press with your palm without straining your wrist.

The 58mm diameter matches the standard baskets of professional and prosumer portafilters (E61 groups, La Marzocco and most 58mm machines), so the tamper sits flush in the basket and compacts the coffee bed evenly, the starting point of a regular extraction. Around 350g of well balanced weight helps keep the tamping pressure consistent from one coffee to the next.

Made in Italy by Metallurgica Motta of Omegna, producing stainless steel barista tools since 1967 and a fixture in most Italian cafés.
